One of the casualties of the weak economy has been the drop in new car sales. Auto dealers are suffering significant drops in sales across the nation. A recent article by Autobytel attempted to shed some light on the issue and also show ways that auto dealers are trying to increase sales.

In their survey of auto dealers 56% reported sales declines over 2007. Almost three-quarters of domestic brand dealerships claimed that sales are down versus 48% of import dealers.

Survival Methods

So, how are dealers adapting to this downturn? According to the study, the successful ones are improving their lead-conversion process and spending more time on Internet marketing.

Of the dealers surveyed 77% claimed they have put more focus on lead-conversion and a staggering 91% plan to to either increase or maintain their level of online marketing. This is because the auto dealers want to put their money where the customer are. It is common knowledge that most car buyers turn to the internet to research before they make a purchase. The ability to attract these visitors and convert them into sales is a huge revenue opportunity.

For this reason many Auto Dealers are turning to Click to call Software to help convert these customers. Placing free Click to Call buttons on a dealer website and by using click to call in online advertising campaigns such as Google Adwords has been shown to turn casual visitors into callers and callers into customers.

PremiumTalk offers a low cost method of implementing click to call into an advertising campaign, blog, or company website. Having a cost efficient method of improving sales is critical in these tough economic times.
